Crock Pot Chicken Teriyaki

Tasty Asian-inspired dinner.


1 lbs chicken, diced (raw)
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 garlic cloves, minced

Sesame seeds (optional)


Combine chicken broth, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar and garlic cloves in large bowl. Add chicken to sauce, and toss to combine.

Pour chicken mixture into crock-pot. Cook on low 4-6 hours, or until chicken is cooked through.

Sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional). Serve over hot cooked rice and spoon extra sauce if desired.

I followed this receipt to the T and it is like chicken floating in soup! Definitely not something I wanted to serve to my family and a huge waste of food/money. I let it cook the full 6 hours on low then 2 additional hours on high to try and make it a thick sauce, it didn't work. I'm off to see how I can thicken this and see if I can salvage the meal.

lots of times chicken will leach a lot of fluids out when it cooks, a few idea, cut the amount of broth, or try flash searing the chicken first, sometimes that reduces the fluids, also some corn starch will help thicken it, But all in all I normally just flash mine in a wok, and let it simmer that way, as I have found most times crock pots between the steam they retain and all other factors do create a lot of liquids
