Don't forget Vestal from East... He can also do it all. and just as good a hitter as anyone if not better.. If he was on a constantly (contending) better team.. He would be by far Favorite.. Also The Justus Kid from North can do all....

Conference is weakest this year I've ever seen. Very little pitching, most the teams have a good #1 and then it really falls off. WC, WW & East probably have the most pitching. Depends on their defense on order of finish for the 3. I know we have struggled with the gloves. WW seem solid at most their positions. A fan told me they had been very good at home, away catcher has hurt them & I can see that. We didn't work them much though, a lot of easy plays. Fan said East is like last year, most players did return, should make routine plays. Hitting, WC then East has most power, WW has some small players but have a small field.

Right now has to have Koon, Ortiz, Pope as POY front runners. Going to see Elkin tomorrow, do what they may have. Dark horse maybe Ledford from WW, I see 2 of his wins are vs weak opposition but beat a good East team.depends on if he sees tougher conf teams or just the weaker ones.

Got Ya Blinders.. POY?? Surely everyone knows Stats inflated and that's not how they pick POY!! But wouldn't surprise me.. Hard for a High School position player (only) to get MVP... IMO..

Exactly, ball hit in the dirt around the plate. 4 battery errors on catcher on wild pitches + 1 E on pop up. Shorts error ( sorry, on Thursday WC gm ) was on groundball with runner at 1b could have gotten runner or batter out, he bobbled it & ate the throw. Smart play but, still an E. WC LF should have gotten E on single & E that let batter take 2b, it’s not a double. Point is our scorekeeper & WW scorekeeper tend to pad stats. I’m sure others do also, I’m just not aware of them. Also, other players stats are hurt when you favor certain kids & then you get all Conference players on bogus evidence

I assume you're speaking of when a catcher, or any fielder for that matter, drops a sure fire out in foul territory?

If you are, then it certainly is an error on said fielder.

Its real simple if you think about it, the batter was supposed to have been put out, but was given a second chance by the fielding error..

Also, pop-up to the catcher isn't an error, unless a runner is able to move up a base. Again, should they be caught? Maybe. Is it an error? NO

OK blinders, I am assuming you're saying you saw an error on the WW short stop on Friday?

Absolutely not, i’m Agreeing with you UNOIT. Both WW & WC have padded stats. My point is WW appears to do it just for the coach’s kids & a brother ( who I would say stats are padded to try to get POY since Brooks is out ). Seen it firsthand on Friday night. WC does it to help all their players, of course we don’t use daddy’s and brothers as coaches

You’re correct but, passed balls & wild pitches are battery errors. He had 4 + 1 error on pop up that any varsity catcher should catch. Pitcher is the one who should be upset, paper has him for 2 wp max preps has him for 1 & the run scored goes down as earned but, not if they had been scored correctly. He had 2 wild pitches but only 1 run scored from them, 1 scored on a pb. Max preps doesn’t have any passed balls for him for the yr & 0 errors on SS, I saw 1 Friday night.

From MLB.com: by this, it's not a passed ball if a runner doesn't advance due to the passed ball.

Passed Ball (PB)

Definition

A catcher is given a passed ball if he cannot hold onto a pitch that -- in the official scorer's judgment -- he should have, and as a result at least one runner moves up on the bases. Passed balls have commonality with wild pitches, as both allow a runner to advance on his own without a stolen base. However, there is a key difference: A passed ball is deemed to be the catcher's fault, while a wild pitch is deemed to be the fault of the pitcher.

A passed ball is not recorded as an error, but when a run scores as the result of a passed ball, it does not count as an earned run against a pitcher. (In cases where this is in question, the official scorer must reconstruct the inning, and if the run would not have scored without the passed ball, that run is deemed unearned.) If a runner advances on a passed ball, he is not credited with a stolen base.

After a strikeout, if the catcher fails to catch the third strike, and the batter reaches first base safely as a result, either a passed ball or a wild pitch must be awarded. In the instance of a wild pitch, that baserunner could count against a pitcher's ERA, but in the instance of a passed ball, he cannot.

Passed balls can be a good way to keep track of how often a catcher is at fault for allowing a runner to advance, but there are flaws. Specifically, the league leaders in passed balls are typically catchers who catch knuckleball pitchers frequently, as knuckleballs have long been the hardest pitch to catch in baseball history because of the awkward and unpredictable movement. Other pitches, such as sliders or curveballs, which are frequently thrown low and in the dirt, can lead to a high number of passed balls as well.

I was told if ball hit any part of glove went trying to catch a pop up and unable to catch it be a error. If it was a hard line drive to SS and couldn't make the play it be recorded as a hit. I may be wrong cause what I read here.

Passed ball is not considered an error. It would be kept on the pitching stats as a passed ball, or a wild pitch, according to scoring. Unsure of the SS's errors, wasn't there.

Didn’t say seniors were better just only have 2 on team. Weird kids are quitting going into their last yr. WW has a problem with stats for coach’s kids. Heard catcher has struggled defensively several games & saw him have 4passed balls at WC & let a pop up drop, not to mention 4 stolen bases without a throw being close to getting a runner ( all that are normal for a undersized freshman). SS committed an error & so did 3b but, max preps only has the 3b error, not the catcher’s 4 or the SS’s 1. WC just not recording errors for everyone, no favorites here
